BUT SERIOUSLY - WHY DON'T WE LEARN ABOUT THIS STUFF? This subject has always been interesting to me - we talk about all the Presidents (I can't remember if I'm supposed to capitalize this and I'm too lazy to look it up, so it gets the big "P") that we've had under the Constitution, but we really don't discuss the folks who led us before that. We had an actual system of government in place! With actual leaders! That did actual things! Who were they? Damned if I know.
Why don't we teach this stuff? Smart money says it's because we're embarrassed. So we never learn about the period where our country operated under Windows Vista before getting a hard reboot and an upgraded OS. We teach more about the men who led under the Confederacy than under the Articles of Confederation. It's a shame.
