There's no reason why shouldn't have heard of Haym Salomon. He is as important to the cause of American liberty as other figures such as Patrick Henry or Paul Revere - maybe even more so. So let's add another notch in the belt of "little-known American badassery" in the name of old Haim, eh?
One of the more profound things done in this country occurred in 1941, right before the attack on Pearl Harbor - as anti-Semitism burned a path through Europe and beyond, the city of Chicago dedicated a statue of Washington, Robert Morris and Haym Salomon that's still on Wacker Street today.
